Merry Christmas

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

To all my Dear Friends,

From my knowledge, 2010 has been one of the most difficult years in Haiti. Earthquake, natural catastrophe, Cholera, political violences, etc. Most people do not even think about Christmas because they are overwhelmed with the country’s situation. In Vignier, the church has been praying every 4:00 in the morning and we plan to continue to do that for another 2 weeks for we know that God thinks about Haiti. As the wise men bowed before the baby Jesus in the manger, may myself, all Haiti, all America, all Canada, all England etc, bow before Him and recognized that He is worthy to be celebrated.

Thank you all for being a great blessing to us during this difficult year with your prayers, your support, your food, your letters, your e-mails, your words of encouragement, etc, to help us rebuild and to keep the ministry alive. Without God and without you we will not be able to make it. You have been a blessing.

I join my voice with all the Haitian people in which lives you are part of to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2011.

Benite, Michaelle, Daisie and all your Haitian Friends

Update June 16 2010

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

To all my Dear Friends and supporters,

Many of you have been asking about what is going on with the containers and with the construction’s process. I must tell you that nothing is being done yet and it is a little bit frustrating. One of the reasons is that we have not found an NGO that would receive them without cutting some kind of a deal such like giving, selling equipments, or establishing some kind of partnership in using the equipments that have to be shipped to be used in Haiti in the construction.

Keep praying that a door will be opened as we continue to negotiate but in the meanwhile I am working on the process to register our own NGO with the government so that I can get franchise when things would be shipped in Haiti and this is the perfect timing to do it. The documents are being put together now and we are hoping that in a week we will be able to give them to the person responsible to work on the process.
Here what is needed for the completion of the process:

List of documents

1.- Statutes of the NGO
2.- Once written must be notorized
3.- Present the program and in the program present a specific project
4.- Letter of request that will be addressed to the Primer Minister of Haiti
One letter from 2 others NGO’s
A letter from the mayor
Cost- 7,000.00 US dollars
60% of the amount will be given as the process starts
20% of the amount when deposit the first draft at the planification ministry
20% of the amount when deposit definitely
Duration of the registration process- 3 months the most according to the man who will do it for me.

Please, pray for this specific project so that it can be completed as soon as possible. Pray that the rest of the funds will be provided for 1000 dollars has already given towards it.

Thank you again for standing with us in all that is happening in Haiti. You are so incredible Wait to hear from you soon.

Blessings

New Testimony

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

To all my Dear Partners,

I want to thank everybody for standing with Haiti before and after the earth quake. After that terrible event, many of our friends have endeavored to raise funds for the rebuilding of the school of Vignier, to help feed the people. It is like many years of work have lost in just seconds but we believe that God would restore us 3 or 4 times more.

The first Sunday of the year, the church prayed for a new testimony. I had mine already and I know that many more would testify of His goodness. I was very overwhelmed not knowing what I was going to do even though people were raising money. I needed to put the parents and students in confidence in rebuilding the school. While I was praying, God had already put Vignier and the building into people’s heart. The Lord put in the heart of the owner of a company whose name is Ben Conner to come to Haiti to rebuild the school with a metallic structure that will withstand earthquake. He is planning to put towards the project some of his company’s money in the amount of 50.000 dollars. He has the expertise in this kind of building, he has the passion to see it rebuilt, and he has the right people around him. We want about 500,000 dollars for this project. I, Benite JEUNES give the green light to any supporter who wants to give towards the reconstruction of the school. You can send your support:

Those that signed contract with me for the Canadian government can proceed as usual. Anything that comes directly in Haiti via Lynx Air will be used as directed. Please, designate your funds: Construction, foods, clothes, families, school payroll, etc.

I give you the guarantee that every penny would be used for rebuilding and no fees would be taken away with these two groups.

Also Ben Conner and a crew would be in Haiti for 3 months to work. If a team wants to come and get this work done, please let me know so we can coordinate all the trips. For now I will only receive 2 teams in March that were already booked their tickets even before the quake. Because of this crucial time and we want to finish the school and other things, make plan to come and help as me and Bro. Ben Conner would work to coordinate this project. He is going to manage it until the school project is done and as we discuss together we will see what else can be done as we go. After the 3 months of work, I’ll let all the partners know when I’ll receive teams for seminars, , pastors’ seminars, convention, leaders training, prison ministry, etc, at a later date.

Haiti shall rise, Haiti shall rise, Haiti shall rise and you are part of it.

Blessings,

Bro. Benite

Dear Friends & Kingdom Builders,

I want to thank you all for your prayers, your concern and your support to us after that earthquake that destroys the capital and other places. I am forever grateful for your solidarity and you have responded well. Thank you for your e-mails that encourages me to keep working and help the people of Haiti. I am recuperating bit by bit, even though once in a while I would hear the big noise. Please, pray for my back that is aching. I do not know if something fell on me during the earthquake.

Let me update you a little bit.
1.- My internet is working now and I can check more often.
2. Keep praying for Haiti and its government that Haiti would not loose this opportunity to rise up. Pray that it leaders would have the vision and wisdom to get Haiti out. Let it be a double portion for Haiti.

3. The church is doing well and just after that earthquake, we have over 60 people that came to the Lord. That ‘s good and we pray that more would continue to come. We will need to get more french Bibles old & New.

4.- The office of Lynx Air is opened now and you can send your mail there. Here is again the address:

Benite Jeune
c/o Lynx Air
P.O.Box 407139
Ft. Lauderdale, Fl 33340
USA

Please, do not send packages right now with heavy items, only envelops.

5. The P.O Box in Port-au-Prince has collapsed and those that had sent packages for their sponsored children, their children would not get it. Everything have lost from the post office in P-au-P. Please, do not send anything to that P.O.Box in P-au-P.

6.There is a company called MAF( Missionary Aviation Fellowship) that flies items into Haiti right now. You pay 1.50 dollar and I can pick up the items in Haiti free of taxes. If I could take this advantage to receive some solar panels and rolls Royce batteries that would be a blessing. Also, for those who want to send care package that will probably be the best way to do it now and it has to be a certain size so that it would not be lost in the many packages.

Blessings

Love,

Benite

Dear Special Partners,

I want to take this special moment to thank you for your prayers and support in this disastrous moment.

I went to visit Port-au-Prince and its downtown a few times already and it is heart breaking. Most businesses went down. Most of the government buildings went down if not all. Port-au-Prince have become almost a camp site. People are fighting when some of the organizations are doing the food distribution because of lack of coordination and the amount of people seeking help.

I also went to Leogane, to Jacmel, it is heart breaking. It is a country that needs to be rebuilt. People need mostly food and shelter. In Vignier, many houses were destroyed but not to the same magnitude as Port-au-Prince and Leogane. I do plan to bring a couple families to Vignier from Port-au-Prince as I plan to find some rice and others items.

Some people are asking about us in Vignier. Many people are still sleeping outside, me and my family also. For water, we can buy it and we do find water to shower for our well is still working.

I do not know how the situation would be in the future for the commerce is paralyzed for now. Food has become more expensive because the supply is limited. A bag of rice that used to cost 360 HT dollars is now 500 dollars. I talked with a rice supplier and he will try to help me get about 10 bags of rice so that I can help some people in the village and also some families in P-au-P, for food from the charity has not reached the village and also many blocks in Port-au-Prince and others. My philosophy is to see if I can help 10, 20, 30 families at a time and I know for sure they will get the help. I took some plantain ( Banana plantain) to Port-au-Prince to assist some people and I would like to continue do that on a higher level. I would love to feed, build for people, etc for I want to be a part in the rebuilding of my country and you will be a part also. If you know any organization, any government funding who wants to help rebuild and wants to help financially, I will make myself available for I see the suffering of my people who are in great need.

It is true that many NGOs are helping but I pray it will do good for the people and go to them. I could not believe my ear when someone told me that food they gave for the last hurricane was still in storage room, that is wicked. I promise and I guarantee you if money is given to help people, feed, build for people, it will go to feeding, building, helping and I want you to come to see what we do with it and take pictures.

Yes we have church and we have about 12 people coming to the Lord already after the event and looking for commitment from many more. We will need Bibles for we feel a harvest of souls is coming. We have 3 days of fasting in the church to pray for Haiti and its reconstruction.

As you know it, the buildings will be rebuilt but I want more for my village. I want to go past my compound and also to help many more people. I also want to further helping people to become self-sufficient by creating businesses. Haiti has to grow also. The Lord knows my heart and my love for my people.

Let’s stay in touch.
Blessings,

Benite

Jan 22 2010 Update from Benite

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

Hello My Dear Partners,

It had been over 8 days now since the quake hit Haiti. In the midst of this mess where thousands died, dead bodies under the rubbles, stinky smell in town, many sleeping under the star, even in Arcahaie because people are so scared. Food is very scarce, gaz is very scarce, most markets and busenesses are closed because their buildings are damaged or by fear.

Yersterday and today, I went to visit the town of Arcahaie and also walk through Vignier. I see that many houses are affected but our compound in Vignier took the biggest blow in all the county of Arcahaie, Cabaret. There are also many people died in Arcahaie that were living in Port-au-Prince.

Many people are asking for the people in our church and the school. Fortunately, no church members died in the church excepted we have 5 to 6 people that were wouded. Yersterday, one of our neighbors died at the hospital. Also, those who know Me Gedeon, she is one of our cleaning lady at the school, she had lost 2 grand sons.

At the school no one died. Fortunately, it was not during class hour. It will be a bigger mess.

Sorrry for not communicating very often, I do not have a way to communicate yet excepted using the internet cafe.I hope to be able to communicate easier with you by next week. But in the meanwhile, keep acting on behalf of Haiti as our agent to rebuild the compound and also the many others that need help in Vignier and so on. Anyone who wants to donate towards rebuilding, I know you will take the responsibility until we know what to do for things are still not easy.

The Lord has given, He has taken away, may His name be blessed. May it be the time for Haiti’s restoration and I am glad that you and I are just in the middle of it. I am alive for such a time as this.
Blessings,

Bro. Benite

Update from Benite

Dear Friends, Co-Labors Partners,

It was 4 :53 when I was getting ready to attend a conference at 5PM with a professor. Sunddendly, I heard a great noise and a big shaking. I run to open the door to go outside. I stand in front of the door and a voice told me not to open it and I went to hide under the desks in the room and in seconds the heavy concrete ceiling fell down. Dust, breathing hard, thinking about my family, my wife, my little Daisie, I could hear the others crying already for help. It reminds me instantly about what had happened 2 years ago when a school collapsed in Port-au-Prince 2 years ago where children stayed there for 2, 3 days under the rubble. I thought that It was going to be the same happening to me.

Instantly, I began to say that I am not going to die now. I found a crack of about 14 inches high between two concrete beams( Concrete beam of the floor that I was on and the beam of the ceiling under which I was) and I scrolled myself out and jumped about 20 feet from the first floor. I am alive but I am still under shock, traumatized when I still see myself laughing with the person behind me and in front of me a few seconds before the event. I am still wondering why I am still alive ? How could I be here still ?

The country has lost a lot, it country to rebuild. We lost human resources, professors, entrepreneurs, teachers, workers, students, etc. According to the last estimates some 150,000 or more have died and more than 250,000 are wounded. Thousands of houses are destroyed, either in Port-au-Prince or outside of Port-au-Prince.

In Vignier, where we live, we have lost many things :

1. The school has collapsed and need to be rebuilt.

2. We lost chairs, benches, desks, file cabinets

3. The sewing class has destroyed with every thing inside

4. The cafeteria is on the point to collapse and need to be demolished as soon as possible

5. The depot where we used to put food and other items is on the point to fell down. It needs to be demolished before it fell down by itself.

6. We lost our solar panels for they were on top of the school

7. The front of the church is destroyed and need big repair.

8. Money that I have to do payroll and to buy food is lost under the rubble, papers, documents, my address book, etc.

9. I lost most of my clothes, my shoes

10. I lost my laptop, my phones and all most of the numbers.

11. My satellite dish is impacted and I had to come to an internet cafe to write you.

12. I am sleeping me and my family and some other families outside.

That was what had happened on the compound in Vignier but there are many others in Vignier and around that lost their houses as well. So, it is a tough situation but it is not over yet.

Haiti needs you and Vignier needs you and I need you.

1. Prayers for Haiti, for the work in Vignier, I am still under that shock and I am traumatized sometimes.

2. Your advice is needed on how to approach the situation

3. We need builders- Construction teams- come and help us rebuilt.

4. Be our agent to help mobilize resources to help rebuild Vignier, Haiti, etc.

5. Doctors, nurses to come to help in the restoration of people physically, mentally, spiritually

6. Etc.

We need you to stand alongside of us now so that we can get back on our feet for the situation is terrible.

I am considering taking some trips to Canada or the US when the time will be perfect. So, I will let you know. For now you can call me at this number : 011-509-3775 9309 until I can find a way to buy my own phone.

We love you all and thank you

UPDATE

“English Translation” Update on Benite Jeune and family.

No loss of life in the Vignier compound, or surrounding area.
Materially speaking; there is nothing left.
The school has collapsed, the training center/guest house have collapsed,
the cafeteria, Benite’s home as well as the front of the church have also collapsed.
Nothing is salvageable or fit for occupation.

Benite and his brother Caleb were both in the university during the earth quake.
Caleb heard a huge grinding noise and had the reflex to open the door to run from his class,
but a voice that he claims is the Holy Spirit; told him to close the door and get under a table.
He closed the door, just as the entire building on the other side of the door collapsed.
He was able to escape by another route.
By midnight Benite’s wife and parents still had no news of him.
They decided to drive into Port au Prince to see if he was at the residence
that he lived in while studying at the university.
They found that building flattened to the ground.
They then went to the university, to find that it was collapsed as well.
They then saw his car parked, and asked people milling around
if they had seen the owner of the car. They said yes! He is OK,
because he had turned the car lights on to help rescue people
from the collapsed buildings around the university.
They then were able to locate him.

It will take thousands of dollars to rebuild the compound,
and we will have to review our plans.
My info comes directly from Benite’s brother in St-Hubert, Quebec.
Obviously, your prayers, financial and physical aid will be of great necessity.

Bonne Annee/Happy New Year/ Haiti

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010

To MY Dearest Friends, Partners, Co-Labors in the field.

When I look back even past 2009, I noticed that God never does any thing on this earth without using somebody. I am so glad that He is using me in Haiti and I am serving the Haitian people. I am even more joyful that He is using you as an avenue to help me staying in Haiti to serve my people.

I was in Port-au-Prince for a meeting. It was about 60 kms of road and I spent about 3 hours in a traffic jam. I have seen people peeing right in front of people, throwing garbage on the streets and it is just give me a more desire to keep investing into the leaders so that leaders can invest into others. I will need your support again in 2010 for all the aspects of the ministry as the Lord will speak to your heart as 2009 has been a tough year.

I wish you now 12 months of happiness- 52 weeks of prosperity- 365 day= of peace and love- 8760 hours of joy and longlife- 525600 minutes of hope=and perseverance- 31536000 seconds of good health. Happy New Year 2010.

Thank you again for your love-support-prayers- You are awesome and loved.
